“Clean Up the World” is a global campaign aimed at helping protect the environment. The original idea is simple: people come together voluntarily and take action to clean up the areas around them. This can include green spaces, rivers, parks near residential buildings, or you can simply start at home by getting rid of things you no longer need in your house or garden. There are many ways to get involved, but the main goal is the same: to create a cleaner environment and become more socially responsible.
Organisations, companies and community groups often organise initiatives that you can join. You can also take the lead yourself and bring together people from your local community.
How Can You Get Involved?
There are many ways to contribute to environmental protection throughout the year, not just on one particular day. Here are a few simple ways to support the “Clean Up the World” initiative:
- Replace traditional light bulbs with energy-efficient ones.
- Recycle newspapers, plastic bottles and glass bottles.
- Use both sides of a sheet of paper before throwing it away.
- Walk or cycle whenever possible. It not only benefits the environment, but can also contribute to a healthier, more active lifestyle.
- Turn off the lights whenever you do not need them.
- Avoid using plastic bags. Choose a reusable shopping bag or basket instead.
- Support brands that value sustainability in their production processes.
These are simple steps that do not require much effort, yet can make a meaningful contribution to protecting the environment around us.
You have probably heard the saying that it takes 21 days to form a habit. There is also a Japanese approach suggesting that, if you want to change a habit, it can be enough to practise it for at least one minute every day. Start with small steps and gradually build them into your routine. Over time, they may simply become part of your everyday life.
It is important that each of us contributes to protecting the environment. Environmental challenges are becoming increasingly significant, and by working together, we can help make the world a better place to live.
In the spirit of today’s topic, we also invite you to prepare a meal using food you already have left in the fridge. It could be a salad, savoury pancakes, macaroni and cheese or pizza. Get creative, and you may be surprised by the delicious meal you can make from leftovers, all while enjoying your favourite Prima Sticks.
Let’s be responsible!
