November is a month most famous for Serbian Slavas! This is the time when everyone gathers around the table and the family celebrates Serbian traditions. In the coming months more gatherings await us – the holidays are approaching and housewives are already thinking about whether to stick to the traditional or to experiment with other dishes.
If you are one of those who love to experiment and try something new every year, we have prepared some recipes that fit perfectly with Prima sticks. Prima Classic is a treat suitable for fasting days and as such will provide ideal crunchy seasoning for the period. So, let’s get to the business! We’ll start with this simple cauliflower dip. To make the dish more interesting, you can combine it with Prima sticks. With little ingredients, this is an easy-to-do experience.
- 500 g of chopped cauliflower
- 1 tablespoon of cumin
- Pinch of chilli pepper or chilli sauce
- 3 cloves of nicely chopped garlic
- ½ of nicely chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon of turmeric
- ¼ cup of milk
- Pinch of pepper
- Pinch of salt
How to make
Put cauliflower in a dish and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, cumin, turmeric and chilli sauce to taste. Preheat the oven to 180ºC, put the dish into the oven and leave it for 45 to 50 minutes. Once the dish gets that brownish colour, take out of the oven.
Use another pot to sauté - add a tablespoon of olive oil, onion and garlic. When softened, add previously prepared cauliflower and top it with 2 glasses of water (or however much you need to cover all the ingredients with it). Add salt and pepper to taste. Close the pot with a lid and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. When finished, set aside to cool.
Once it is nicely cooled, put in a blender to get a thick mixture. As needed, add milk or water. When this part is over, put the pot back on the stove to heat. This dish is best served warm.
