International Women's Day with Prima

Products needed

Don’t get fooled by the title of this blog. Women should be celebrated 365 days a year! Yet, there is one date that really stands out – March 8! This date has been celebrated for over 100 years, as a reminder of accomplishments and victories that have shaped women’s history. On top of that, International Women’s Day is a necessary reminder to all the problems that women are still battling, such as reproductive rights and gender inequality.

Exactly this is the reason why March 8 is not the only day in the year that we should celebrate. In order to show that we really care, we need to swap traditional flowers and candies for concrete actions that will improve women’s lives for the better and on everyday basis.

Something special for your loved one

If doing something special for your loved one is something on your agenda, you can do no wrong with doing it on March 8! Our suggestion is a meal prepared with special attention and love, and here is a recipe that can serve you as an inspiration! International Women’s Day with Prima proudly presents tasty salad with walnuts and apples. You can make it as a standalone meal or as a side dish with the addition of proteins.

Ingredients

  • Arugula
  • Endive or other type of lettuce
  • Apples
  • Dried cranberries
  • Blue cheese
  • Walnuts
  • Maple Syrup, cinnamon, little bit of lemon juice
  • Prima Classic sticks

How to make

Toast the walnuts in a pan or in the oven until they turn golden brown. Once they cool, chop them, making sure the parts are not too small - the larger the nuts, the more interesting the texture of the salad.

Now it’s time for dressing. Mix Maple Syrup with a little bit of cinnamon and apple juice. Set aside a part of the cheese. Slowly add the rest of the ingredients into the bowl with dressing. In order to coat all the ingredients evenly with dressing it is important to add them one by one. Gently stir until everything is nicely combined and, in the end, sprinkle on top with the rest of blue cheese and chopped Prima sticks.

You can make this salad in advance, finalizing it with additional dressing right before the meal! Taste of living means enjoyment, but don’t forget that International Women’s Day is every day and that it should be celebrated!
