Spring cleaning with Prima

Products needed

Are you looking forward to spring? The awakening nature oftentimes has a way to shake up our energy, improve our mood and encourage the change. One of the best ways to enter the new season is a big spring cleaning. No need to worry, bathroom cleaning and window washing is not what we mean when we say cleaning. That is the standard when it comes to home hygiene.

The topic of today’s blog is a different kind of cleaning – the one that will bring a breath of fresh air to your living space.

Refresh your home

In order to change the atmosphere in your home, the easiest way is to reorganize your furniture arrangement. Put your favorite chair by the window, your table lamp should go on the floor, and that boring picture hanging on your wall – take it to the basement.

But why stop with the picture? What are the other things that you could remove from your living space? For a fresh start, it is of utmost importance not to get overwhelmed with piled up objects. Put aside your winter decorum, go through your closet and store your winter pieces. It is time to create space for new things!

For a real spring atmosphere, think about all the ways you can introduce green in your space. If you are not a plant person, a vase with fresh flowers in the living room will have just the same effect. But if you do speak the language of plants, this is the perfect moment to expand your plant crew and buy some new ones.

Spring in your kitchen

By this - we mean the choice of ingredients. It’s been months since we have been eating those calorie-packed winter meals with pickled vegetables for salads. Contrary to that, the taste of spring is fresh, green and juicy! With this recipe your table will showcase all those flavors in the most perfect way. Don’t worry, we know you have just cleaned your whole house, so this meal is really quick to prepare!

Ingredients

  • Asparagus
  • Leek
  • Garlic
  • Rice
  • Lemon
  • Fresh basil
  • Olive oil
  • Bouillon
  • Prima Peanuts

How to make

Cut the asparagus’ stalk tips and set them aside. Chop the rest of the stalks, and again, set aside a small portion together with the tips. Quickly boil the rest – the stalks should soften, but remain bright green in color. Put them in a blender with some water, basil and olive oil and blend until you get a fresh green sauce.

Sauté the leek with olive oil until softened in another bowl. Add rice. Slowly add the bouillon (chicken or vegetable) and leave it to cook until rice is al dente. Once this whole process is almost over, add more bouillon and fresh asparagus that you have set aside in the beginning. Are you ready to hear the most fun part? Pour the green sauce and spices (lemon juice, salt and grinded pepper) over the risotto. Before serving, decorate with a pinch of parmesan. To improve the texture of your risotto, crush some Prima Peanuts on top! Enjoy your risotto as a standalone meal, or serve it as a side dish with seafood or mushrooms. Embrace the taste of living, whatever option you choose!
