Tasty holiday bites with Prima

Products needed

If you have ever organised a celebration in your home, you already know the number one rule when it comes to food. Finger food is the best solution! This will not only take the burden off of your shoulders regarding the serving or thinking “will there be enough place around the table for all”, but the overall atmosphere will be more chill, both for you and your guests.

If your holiday menu is already planned, but you are in doubt about which tasty snacks to prepare, we have a solution - one that, obviously, includes your favourite Prima Classic sticks. After this interesting recipe, there is more: a couple of interesting suggestions for your holiday decorations!

Cheesy holiday balls

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of pancetta
  • 250 g of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Freshly grounded black pepper
  • 1/3 cups of chopped fresh chives
  • 1/3 cups of chopped pecans
  • 1 pack of Prima Classic

How to make

Fry pancetta until crispy. Place it on a paper-towel to drain, then finely chop it and leave on the side. Use a big bowl to mix cream cheese, cheddar and spices. Shape the balls by lightly rolling the mix between your hands. This amount of ingredients is enough for 18 balls, that should be left to cool in the freezer.

After an hour take the balls out of the freezer and coat them with the mix of finely chopped pancetta, fresh chives and pecans. Insert one Prima stick into each ball and serve them on a tray.

The prettiest ornaments cannot be eaten

You read this correctly – this is a rule we swear by when it comes to holiday table settings. Precisely this is the reason why we suggest serving the cheesy balls with meze on a platter, but not any meze – but meze in the shape of Christmas tree!

For this recipe, feel free to use the ingredients that you like best. Take your favourite cheese, prosciutto, black or green olives and cherry tomatoes, add fruits, nuts or other treats and upgrade it with a pack of Prima Classic. To be fair, Prima Peanuts will work just as well, but as we said, you choose.

The key is to arrange all the ingredients on a platter and shape them like a Christmas tree. For example, put a slice of cheese on top, then one row of blueberries (or other fruits). Each subsequent row should be slightly wider than the previous one in order to slowly shape your tree. Finally, for your tree trunk snap a couple of Prima sticks into equal parts. Serve the rest of the sticks in a bowl and ta-da, your decoration is finished.

We hope that we have inspired you to bring a new look to your holiday table setting this year, and as always, in the next Prima blog you will find additional taste of living ideas. Enjoy your celebrations!
